About Us

-ORIGINAL TEXT-

Inwood remains largely an undiscovered gem. It’s a place of vast green parks, tranquil bodies of water, and a storied history.

After living in Inwood for over 15 years, it had become more than apparent that Northern Manhattan was in need of a comfortable neighborhood café.

So after 18 years in the production end of the film business (the last 10 on The Sopranos) Jason Minter teamed up with his longtime friend, Jason Berger* (of allshows) in hopes of finding an appropriate space to open an eclectic neighborhood café.

After discovering that a business had vacated a beautiful location on the very last corner of Manhattan (218th Street and Indian Road) Jason and Jason began what was to be a long and arduous journey to realizing their dreams with the support and help of their wives Nikki (of Inwood Soap Kitchen) and Paige.

-SOME STOLEN IDEAS-

A cafe is more than just a place to drink and eat, it is the center of a community that is anchored by the space itself and those involved in its creation. Indian Road Cafe was founded in an attempt to make something great.

The result is a beautiful amalgam of casual neighborhood coffee house, swanky cocktail den, serious craft beer bar, and an all-around vibrant joint where the music is awesome, the service is genuine, and everyone is welcome.

Any time you’re downtown, please feel free to stop in.
